Whether you are planning on a jungle adventure or simply relaxing at the beach, Cuixmala offers a broad variety of activities that will undoubtedly provide an unforgettable experience for you and your loved ones.
Cuixmala is about enjoying the tranquility that nature provides. An opportunity to do as much or as little possible each day – horseback riding, boating/fishing, lagoon tours, hikes, walk/run trails, biking, tennis, surfing, bird watching, cow milking, exotic animal sanctuary, and an on-site turtle release program. Our Guests are allowed to freely drive through the property, however, are advised to stay on the main paths and at no point get out of the car in our exotic animal reserve. There are many biking, hiking and jogging paths for guests to enjoy and our Guest Relations team will be happy to provide all information.
We have two restaurants on the property – Casa Gomez at the Casitas and Casa Cuixmala. When there is occupation at both our Casitas and Bungalows/Suites, we are happy to take your reservation for either restaurant. You can also enjoy full service dining at our secluded beach, Playa Caleta Blanca, just 25 min away from CUIXMALA.

All food at Cuixmala is prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients, with around 80% coming from our own organic + biodynamic farms. Dining varies from internationally inspired fine dining on the spacious ocean view terrace or in the grand dining room of Casa Cuixmala, to family style meals in the Villas prepared by a personal cook or traditional Mexican food dining at Casa Gomez. Cuixmala also offers unique and memorable dining experiences from lunchtime picnics at Caleta Blanca with freshly grilled seafood, to relaxing picnics at our organic farm- the ‘hortalizas’ or a romantic beach bonfire dinner, on Playa Cuixmala.
Currently we do not have a Fitness Center. However, CUIXMALA offers various trekking and jogging rails, horseback riding, yoga and you can enjoy the property by bicycle as well. We also have a spacious yoga studio made solely out of bamboo that enjoys stunning sunset views over the property and the Pacific Ocean. Use of the yoga studio is by reservation only, or by booking a yoga, sound healing or meditation session with a private instructor.
Cuixmala’s restaurants are open for full service, including room service, from 8am to 11pm. 24 hour room service is not available, however our kitchens will be happy to help prepare anything guests desire in advance, for perhaps a late night snack or early morning outing.
Costa Alegre is known for its beautiful, long beaches. However, due to heavy shore-break and powerful currents , swimming is prohibited on our main beach, Playa Cuixmala. Fortunately, you are most welcome to swim in our secluded and calm beach at Playa Caleta Blanca, or at the more ruggedly beautiful Playa Escondida.
Each accommodation area within Cuixmala has its own designated pool facility. The Casa Cuixmala pool is reserved for use of guests staying in the Suites and Bungalows. Guests of the Casitas have exclusive access to the casitas’ area pool and of course each Villa has its own completely private pool.
We do not allow pets in property unlike our sister property, Hacienda de San Antonio, who is more suitable. Cuixmala is located within a natural and wild reserve with its own endemic flora and fauna. This wildlife is untamed and includes zebras, antelopes, boar, crocodiles, to name a few. Therefore, the property cannot be held responsible in the event of an injury or loss of a pet. Certainly, we appreciate your understanding.

Cuixmala is a perfect venue for any event. The vast property, luxurious accommodations and facilities offer endless possibilities. Beach set-ups, Mariachi bands, entertainers and fireworks are just a few of the offerings that Cuixmala can organize for private events.
There's so much to see and do – we'd recommend beachwear and suitable attire for exploring the property on foot, horseback, mountain bike, or boat.
The flora and fauna of Cuixmala is friendly and perfectly harmless when respected. We ask that guests do not to get too close to the larger animals they encounter and to never try petting them nor feeding them.
Our drinking water is drawn from deep wells on CUIXMALA’s property and is filtered at our own pumping station. It is regularly tested and is rated at the highest standards of purity and perfectly safe to drink.

Our natural paradise includes insects and most of them completely harmless, some that are strikingly beautiful, a few that are annoying, and one that is a hazard, but rarely encountered.

Having a car at Cuixmala is essential because of the great distances between locations, whether you’re traveling from the Casitas to the Turtle Station & Hatchery (Casa Rio) or from your villa to our gorgeous Caleta Blanca beach. You are welcome to rent a car here at Cuixmala or if you’re renting a car at the airport, be sure to choose one that can comfortably navigate dirt roads.
Currently the CUIXMALA fleet for rent consists of 3 Jeeps, 3 Suburbans and 3 Toyota RAV4. Chauffeured transportation is also available upon request.
